Pentax Optio WG-1 Adventure Series 14 MP Waterproof Digital Camera with 5x Wide-Angle Optical Zoom (Black)

Check my update YouTube videos. I use: "PentaxWG1" The Good Bad and the ugly. The overall feel of this camera is strong and palpable. I love to have the metal and rubber on my electronics. I've gotten this camera. It was on my lap in the jeep and there was a Hornet. I jumped out and threw on the ground. No problem. The removable circular lens (macro stand) has threads. They are 46mm and can screw on filters and caps. I got a hat, UV filter, filter, and polorized cents fluoride filter on e-bay for $ 6 so than Sony TX10, this is the only camera that can protect the lens. Can not wait to buy a telescope lens. My camera was water about 15 feet I have seen no problems with leaking. It has two openings, one for battery and SD card and an HD / AV hook-up. Both seem strong and sturdy to me. The battery cover is never so little, but works well. Ok, thats the building. As you have already heard, is the macro / super macro awesome. If you can get your model to sit still, you can get some pretty big material. The film macro is still pretty cool, but you must stay at a consistent focal length, or it becomes blurY. I shot a wolf spider in black and LED lights around the lens made it look like a monster movie! A bad thing if the macro is that when it is set right into the topic will focus and shoot at something as flat as a leaf or a picture .... If it sticks so much as an ear width or more, it will not stay focused. But when I pulled back just a hair dime looked awsome. NE-Wayz, it seems the closer you are to the issue with this camera, the better it looks. A more detailed picture of two people, shoulders and up, looks great. But further away not so much. images of groups of people (whole body) or bulkhead of a dam or a. .. Cow ... I say that the camera is around the couple. Not bad but not great. I have tried Cybershot TX10, and if you really want waterproof picture quality to go that route or Panasonic. TX10 was beautiful, but not so funny. Back to WG-1. The few pictures I feel that the camera is more consistent than its predesessor W90. Better with a tripod, is the free hand is not so good .. but always the same. Never a crappy picture of nothing. I also know that it does much better in low light than the W90. It will be loud, but I got good lit shots (no flash) in regions where very faint to the naked eye. The l.e.d. light is useful, too. Optical zoom works quite well for pictures. You want a steady hand or stand when zoomed all the way into digital zoom sucks. Panorama is not a coward. You take three pictures and line them up so the camera stitches them. Not as convinient as TX10, but it looks good and you can do the trick ... Since the water. Photos and videos on how pretty darn good. Anti-shake or wudever did it pretty smoothly. With video underwater or zoom function, but do not concentrate so well. But over all common video was better than I expected. Again, when it is close it seems very virbrant. I got about a foot from a cow's face and hair on his head was very HiDef-ish. Battery life .... sucks, but I got and extra generic one when I ordered my 6 dollars. Over-I really love this camera. I was fully entertained for two days and havn't even come to the time elapsed phtography yet. Although I believe in PIC quality TX10 now and then. I would have been tired of the camera after a dip in the lake. I can get a 10 MP zoom camera at less than one hundred and fill all the places where wg-1 deficiency.
